But as an athlete I want to inform the people who know me with the right info.
I had a dream since 2012 to become Belgians first Olympic Boxer. A dream that I had to put away already once came back alive this summer. My fire was lit. 2020 would be my year.
Unfortunately my body speaks otherwise. In January my knee gave up on me during a training camp at Bulgaria. Coming back home, I went straight to my physio Vincent Callewaert (squadt.be). He advised me to go see a knee specialist, take a scan and evaluatie the situation.
My ligaments were pulled but that meant I could go back in the game with a protected knee. For a month it was OK.
But last Thursday I was back in sparring and my knee did exactly the same as in January.
But worse… We got back to the doctor and physio…
Torn ligaments and meniscus… a worst case scenario.
I could chose for a more difficult surgery with a better healing proces on long term.
So I had to say goodbye – again – to my dream.
It was not meant to be & I respect my health and body too much to let it get broken…
Thank you to those who believed in me. Thank you to those who stand by my side in this.
Special thank you to Vincent Callewaert, you have truely been my rock through this!!
Thank you to my brother Chillowproctions who shares his vision on this situation in life and teachesme to stay positive.
Thank you to my forever supportons wifey Charlotte Deldaele who shared the same dream and now was cheering for me to get on top. Thank you for loving and respecting me.
For now…Time to get back on my feet and start the healing proces.
